HOWL Multisports

Over the years, we have cultivated a friendly and inclusive community of swimmers at Howl Multisports.

We welcome everyone, from beginners just getting familiar with open water swimming to those training for long-distance swims and triathlons. Or those just having a swim to reset after a hard week.

Safety is our top priority; our fully qualified open water lifeguards are always on hand to assist you. If you have any questions or need help, don't hesitate to ask!

Additionally, we regularly test the lakes water quality against EU bathing standards to ensure it is safe for swimming.

Safety

Our lifeguards are RLSS Open Water trained, meaning their experience and skill is specific to an open water environment. As well as basic water rescue skills, they are also knowledgeable in areas such as cold water shock and hypothermia.

The safety team work to the RLSS Promotion, Recognition, Rescue framework; promotion of swim safety and swimmer education, recognition and subsequent reduction of risk and finally when required, safe efficient rescue.

HOWL operates using the NOWCA safety system. All swimmers must have a valid NOWCA membership which comes with the NOWCA safety wristband. This is used to scan you in and out of the water. For more details, check out our how to join page.

If you are a new NOWCA member, you will be able to collect your band when you come to your first swim.

During the winter season (November – March), and when the water is below 15 degrees it is compulsory for all swimmers to complete a cold water induction

Water testing is very important to us and this is carried out by an independent certified laboratory. All results are retained and available on request.

Why HOWL?

HOWL Multisports are our longest standing supporter. They have helped our team and participants prepare for Round the Isle since the preparation for our very first event back in 2021. They have provided so much more than a place to train in open water, they have been an integral part of our family and even provided water support for our 2025 event. Now operating from two sites (Eastleigh and Feltham), they continue to grow and encourage people to discover the enjoyment of open water swimming.
