Our journey started back in 2019 when Kiara (Nigel’s wife) was rushed into emergency surgery to deliver their son Reuben, 13 weeks early. In a surgical battle lasting 5 and a half hours, both Kiara’s and Reuben’s lives were saved. The following three months would then see them as residents at Princess Anne Hospital, Southampton where the surgery took place.

To say “thank you” to the amazing teams responsible for saving their lives, Nigel set out on a mission to raise money for the Southampton Hospitals Charity. Joined by his friends Ryan, Michael and TJ, the team raised over £6000 for charity in September 2021, by completing the first ever Round the Isle, middle-distance triathlon on the Isle of Wight.

Then in August 2025, the team grew a little and we did it all over again.

In February 2026, we registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC) and committed to making this an annual event to make the sport of Triathlon more accessible and to continue our journey to raise money towards great causes.
