Making changes…
This month, we popped over to Sandown for a quick visit, an ice cream, and to review the proposed changes to the cycle route.
You still get a challenging, yet doable 90km of cycling anti-clockwise around the island. The main change is after feedback to make the route more scenic, so we did!
We spent considerable time analysing and reviewing the new route, and have made sure that you see more of the Isle of Wight’s prettier roads. There may also be the opportunity for a pitstop at the Mermaid Gin distillery (not that drinking gin will help your ride).
Having also spent a good amount of time photographing and planning the layout for the transition point and finish line, we definitely made the most of our time in Sandown.
We have also applied to the Isle of Wight Council with a proposed date of the 18th September 2027. Many of you have been asking for a date to work towards, so we feel now is the time to announce our planned date. If this is not possible due to other events going on, we will aim for the 25th September instead.
Lastly, we want to say a massive “thank you” to those amazing people who have already signed up for our first public entry event. We have a lot to do over the next 14 months, and can’t wait to put on this event for you.
